I created a new project (let's call it Test2) using the hex file I read off the test PIC and the checksum in the project Dashboard in MPLAB X matches the checksum of Test1. Referring to the PIC18F2431 Programming Spec I found that this checksum is calculated based on the user accessible portion of Flash memory and the configuration registers. So it seems that these portions of Test1 and Test2 match. However I am still curious about the discrepancies. Can you explain why this may be happening? Is there another method to compare the program on a PIC to what was originally programmed on to it? |
