The results are dependent on the number of channels being calibrated, the number of points in each channel, the ordinality of the cal (1,2,3,4, port cals). A Noise Figure calibration, for example, stores a lot more data than a standard sparameter channel calibration. There is no check done at the beginning of a calibration for disk space. If you are running out of disk space, it might be a good time to run a disk cleanup utility or at least inspect the disk. WinDirStat is a free tool that helps you locate unwanted files. Typical instrument usage of disk space includes calibration data sets (calsets), instrument states and Data saves such as S2P files or prn files. If you are accumulating a large number of calsets, that would be fairly obvious by opening the calset dialog. Would it be possible to have a disk check prior to saving the calibration files and display a warning dialog needing to free up disk space rather than the application abruptly quitting and finding out after the fact? With a warning dialog, the user can try to free up some disk space and retry again without having to redo the whole Calibration All process over again. Even better is if you can display the amount of disk space needed versus what is available in the warning dialog. Otherwise, the operator just lost 2 to 3 hours in the calibration. In a production environment, that can get pretty expensive. I'll see what I can do in downloading and running the WinDirStat program and I'll get back to you once I get the results. Thanks, rok |
