See Attachment…+ +If the New P/N connector was introduced it is not necessarily a direct replacement on an older unit?+ +Other hardware might also need to be changed out to accommodate this connector.+ +Possibly the bulk-head bracket that holds the old connector has to be changed with a new bulk-head bracket?+ +For certain the semi-rigid cable from the attenuator to the connector has to be changed.+ +The old semi-rigid cable and the new cable are not interchangeable.+ +New connector requires a new semi-rigid cable (08360-20097).+ +I’ve looked into these new parts and only the connector is available for purchase.+ +There are few semi-rigid cables left and are owned by the Service Centers.+ +I do not believe the semi-rigid cable can be obtained by an outside source.+ +At this time even though the connector and semi-rigid cable may not be a direct replacement.+ +It might be advantageous for the 83650A to be returned to an Agilent Service Center for at least a Tech Eval.+ +Have the Service Center evaluate if the connector and cable can be used to correct the damaged connector on the customer’s unit.+ +If the parts aren’t correct or if the Service Center determines they can’t do anything, then the customer is only out a minimum fee.+ +If they can and the parts do work, then the 83650A can be repaired; granted at a cost.+ 附件
