几十年来，3.3、5V和12V供电轨一直是微电子电路最受欢迎的电压。几年前，许多元件和集成电路使用12或5伏电源，当工艺技术缩小时，所需的电压降至3.3伏。今天，集成电路使用的电压种类要多得多，许多电压远低于1伏。有趣的是，尽管工艺技术大幅降低，12伏、5伏和3.3伏供电轨仍然存在。例如，大多数现代计算机电源遵循ATX(高级技术扩展)主板惯例，并提供+3.3 V、+5 V、+12V和-12 V供电路板使用。许多电源仍然提供这些电压，并依靠其他DC/DC转换器来支持不断增长的负载点电压。使用特定输入电压轨进行负载点转换有优点也有缺点，对此的解释超出了本文的范围。然而，本应用笔记将探讨当DC/DC转换器的内部电路不支持3.3V工作电压时，使用可用3.3V供电轨的几种技术。将使用带PMBusTm和telemetrywill的40 A降压转换器TPS546D24A作为示例，但这些技术也可用于提供分轨支持的其它DC/DC转换器
